Effectively the majority of the Assembly voted to keep Bill in charge until the new Executive is voted in. Or perhaps even in the new AIDA board ?

Bill S. called for canditates for a new executive board precisely the time that voting for an Interim board was in process. I believe that this was a deliberate act to appear to take the need away from having an interim board. Effectively the majority of the Assembly voted to keep Bill in charge until the new Assembly. Or perhaps even in the new Assembly ?

I asked around. All assemblies have received every application, so you can ask your national assembly for all the information.

Am I right, if I guess that it's Bill who tell us, how many votes candidates got?
But if he is one of the candidates (even for several vacancies/functions), how that is possible??!
(I know, I know, it's the way how things are done in AIDA nowadays...)

Everyone needs to pull together, sit down and go forward with a new board elected, this carry on is soul destroying for all freedivers and fans of the sport. Come on guys, you have a lot of responsability here to AIDA and to all those freedivers out there. We need a STABLE and TRUSTWORTHY board that we can look to and learn from. For the sake of this ultimate sport and pastime lets get it sorted.

If Mr. Cameron intends to make "The Dive" he needs to consult very closely with Carlos Serra who was also at the scene and is an experienced diver himself. He is the author of "The Last Attempt" which goes into detail about Audrey Mestre's fatal dive.
In my humble opinion Audrey Mestre should not have lost her young life that day.

A very late comment perhaps, but I had to say that I think the directors should not have made a US version with a happy ending. I think the (european) ending is great because of the bad ending. It is a perfect final scene for the movie. Although I understand that if he had not made a US version he would have missed a lot of sales, however I think it is sad that it has to happen this way..

I really think they're going to do this to practice, to learn and to overcome their own limits, not for exhibition or to appear on the media... They're both serious and commited divers.

Interestingly SCUBA has been dropping even more. Diving and swimming have been dropping as well. Jogging has been remaining fairly steady thought it looks like slight decent. Cycling and bicycling are down as well. Weight lifting is down more severely.

So right now it seems there may be a general trend downward in individual sports.
